It’s been a great week for spreading the BTG world! This week, Bridge The Gaps had an awesome opportunity to participate on a Houston based podcast known as Unfiltered & Informed. The platform provided a great opportunity to talk about the current COVID-19 social distancing environments as they relate to the return of school/classrooms, sports, and some of the challenges that student athletes will be facing.

Omar Durham, Founder and CEO, had a great chat with podcast host, Dustin Jones. The panel also included Floyd Dixon, Heidi Hite, and Ryan Jones. The podcast covered topics from back to school safety, the announcement of Democratic vice-presidential nomination, Kamala Harris to the future of COVID-19; What if it’s still here in December. The group had a great synergy and some awesome laughs.

Omar specifically chatted about the impact that canceling football seasons will have on various universities and all of their programs. Omar mentioned in addition to the podcast, “Football funds several programs, and all those programs will feel the hurt from the decisions to not play. This includes programs like golf, baseball, and even those outside of sports such as band, arts…let alone a cut in scholarships. Omar called it “The Trickle Down Effect” and chatted some more on how this will influences high school student athletes and their changes for scholarships. It was a great chat!

To watch the podcast in it’s entirety, please check it out on the Unfiltered & Informed Facebook page here or you can catch the highlights featuring Omar on our BTG Instagram TV Chanel here!
