“We were very excited to partner again with Spring High School Administration and Athletics on this huge initiative," mentions Omar Durham, Founder, and CEO of Bridge The Gaps.

Biking For North Houston

Bridge The Gaps wanted to take this annual toy drive for Booker Elementary School to the next level by providing bikes for students selected by the teachers for their grades, attendance, and merit.

Durham continues, “This initiative incorporated the high school student-athletes, who provide wrapped gifts for kids but also allowed them to connect and act as mentors for the elementary students. Being a mentor and a role model is a great way to engage students who may have been in similar hardships while growing up. We had hands-on help and donations from our board member, Floyd Dixon, ASAP Bond Charities, and Assured Finacial Services. We can’t be more pleased with how this event turned out and how many kids we were able to surprise this holiday.“

In addition to programs such as Bikes for Booker, Bridge The Gaps also supports and provides additional support throughout the community and the year with continuous programs such as Families First and Healthy Kids.

“We plan to make this an annual initiative with Booker Elementary School and are looking forward to what we can accomplish next year!” Durham concludes.

Bridge The Gaps would like to thank everyone for their donations and wish everyone a wonderful Holiday season!
